The Berlin - San Francisco axis takes an unexpected shortcut with this cover by Foli. A 2-minute, 51 second shortcut to be exact whilst the original version stretches over an elegiac 8 minutes. But the melancholic spirit of the original title is followed; synthetic and fragile, rhythmic and shaky, we can imagine this autumnal, disillusioned ballad unfolding under the poplars of Berlins’ "Lindnerallee". A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ben McClintock finally settled in San Francisco after having criss-crossed the American West and then living a few years in Boston. Guitarist in several bands such as The Social Studies, he also is vocalist with his own band Foli, and is now exploring a more electronica side to his music.
